Why charitable giving matters to us

Giving back is especially important. It defines our culture and expresses our group-wide commitment to changing lives, not only through our day-to-day work but also through our charity initiatives. We encourage all our people to make a difference wherever possible; to take part in charitable work and give back to our local communities. And our employees are only too pleased to comply - we’re very proud to actively contribute to a number of good causes.

Our approach

Each year ask our people, across all locations and divisions, which charities they would like to support and we’re committed to supporting all our people in their charity efforts.

During 2017, ICS Group raised over £29,000 for a variety of charities including Grenfell fundraising, Go Elmo, GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital), Macmillan, Comic Relief, Fruitful Office and We Love Manchester. Our fundraising events included sports days, charity runs, abseiling, bake sales, voluntary community work, coffee mornings and so much more.

Our charitable giving is clearly something our people are proud of. They tell us they value “the fact that we raise so much money for good causes”, “the support for individual and group charity work” and “staff interacting and participating in company charity events, which has made this a better workplace where everyone is encouraged to be creative, offer ideas and join in”.

Our support

To encourage charitable donations, employees are able to donate to charity in a tax efficient way through our ‘Give as You Earn’ payroll scheme, administered by the Charities Aid Foundation.

We provide all employees up to two days each year paid charity leave which encourages them to put forward fundraising ideas and take part in charity work both inside and outside of ICS.

Across our divisions we also have charity champions who act as ambassadors within their area to create a sustainable charity plan.
